N. Gizem Bacaksizlar Turbic is a postdoctoral researcher at the RWTH Aachen University (Aachen, Germany) and at the Computational Social Science department at GESIS – Leibniz Institute for the Social Sciences. She was previously affiliated with several institutions, namely the Data Science Initiative and Complex Systems Institute at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte [UNC Charlotte] (2015-2019), Santa Fe Institute in New Mexico (2019-2020), and the Communication Science Institute (ICNOVA at the NOVA University in Lisbon (2020-2021). N. Gizem Bacaksizlar Turbic holds a PhD in Software and Information Systems from the College of Computing and Informatics at UNC Charlotte (2019). Her research areas include complex adaptive systems and social and political networks. She studies the effects of social influence on political behavior and group dynamics. Her methodological expertise is in network science, agent-based modeling, and system dynamics.
